My Fellow Regensburgers' Blogs! →
A bunch of nice, smart and awesome people who get to experience the same things I experience. And unlike me, they published their blog on Facebook and are real Americans, so their english don’t suck. After reading these blogs, mine will look like one trash of a peachy literature (I totally just made that up.) but whatever :)
Here they are:

Hola. Day 7.
I. Am. So. Sick. Already.
German overwhelms me. On one hand it is quite amazing how much I understand spoken and written german now, on the other I get quite frustrated at times. Intensivkurs ist ganz wahnsinnig. I think very slow, and most of the times I found myself translating my thoughts from indonesian to english and then to german. I am too tired to do homework, and memorizing vocabs will...
I miss Wes and friends. I miss mom, haven’t talked to her for a long...
– Lana, sixth day in Regensburg. After the last class ended at 14.30, I grocery-shopped a bit at the Altstadt, then went back to my apartment. Played some computer games, fixed dinner, and realized that I spend half of the day just by myself. I hesitate to chat my wesfriends, and mom is never online....

Germany day 6: classes start.
Apparently I got into group A for intensive course. FO SHIZZLE! I was like, “dude, awesoooome!” but then I looked around the classroom:
Everyone except for carmen and colin and me, took more than 3 years of german. One took freaking 9 years. One IS german, disguised as an american student! *points at Paul*
The classes were intense. Not one sentence was spoken in english. I can...

Germany entering day 6.
Yesterday we had the placement test and it was freaking damn SCHWIERIG that I don’t mind anymore if they put me in B. Actually, vanderbilt kids took more semesters of german before going on this program, and the wheaton kids either took AP german in high school or was in Germany for a year. So yeah go Wes.
Aaaand yesterday, I cooked my first meal! It was a simple pasta with tomato sauce,...

Germany day 3. (I should find more catchy titles)
Streets are more crowded now that today is Saturday. Germans are moderately fashionable, and I saw are lots of cute, nice dogs walking by their masters without leashes. This morning I walked with Alyssa to Maximillianstraße to get prepaid phone. That I got done with my limited German. So proud.
And I also got down all the bus routes and figured out how to get to places. I taught some friends how...

Germany day 2.
Because day 1 I had no internet access. But this post covers both days, can.
Erm… so yeah I flew from Boston to Munich, passed out pretty much the whole flight (woke up to eat… and the food was bad =.=) and arrived at Munich at 9 AM GMT-1. There I met 4 student, american-tourist-looking bunch who turned out to be kids from Wheaton and one girl from Colby. They are nice :)
Then we met...
alright i’m off! :)

Germany in 1: Can't Wait!
I got the e-mail from Uli Plass, our advisor who is already in Regensburg. With housing assignment.
I will live in Wohnheim Vor-der-Grieb. The location is perfect, exactly in the middle of Regensburg Altstadt. That place is pretty enough to pass as my desktop wallpaper (and I am very picky when it comes to desktop wallpaper!), and I can’t imagine actually living there. My stomach is...

Germany in 3: Regensburg Sneak-Peek
Today at least I got some packing done. I pack so much stuff… but it is for more than 6 months not 6 weeks! And, I am not sure whether some particular favorites are available in Regensburg. As far as I can recall, the load was not that heavy when I went through it today. Many dresses. And shirts that needs to be ironed. That’s all. My next problem will be books.
So what I planned is...
4 days to Germany! Anxiety + fear levels rise in a quadratic function.
– Lana, who is now <(o_O’)/ because she is a very last-minute and forgetful person (deadly combination). Also the fact that she is shy and socially-challenged when it comes to communicating, even in english, and now, uhm, has to speak german to survive. Plus she is going alone. And...
Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don’t matter...

Greetings from Puerto Rico!
This place is damn nice.
I will… just upload pictures later. Now too lazy to do anything. Ok here they are. This is Old San Juan waterfront, by the big fort. In old San Juan, one of the oldest cities in the americas, they painted the houses with vivid colors (Mita was questioning, why are they not “norak” (corny)? In north Jakarta they are). 3 to 5-story buildings neatly...
I will miss my comfy room :(
– Lana had to move out of her room today! :(
Have a Blessed New Year!
It’s 2010! I have set some goals I intend to complete this year (and some for my 20th birthday too). I am happy now. Probably it’s from the pink champagne, but it’s a good start… right?
I’ll edit this post later (or not) cos right now there is a party at AAA (many drunkards downstairs) and we are celebrating it with some champagne and sparkling cider (to toast with),...
