Weather Woes
Well now the weather fluctuates quite wildly; sometimes I wade huge puddles and get my socks wet, sometimes I have to block the wind and kick the pile of crisp, fallen leaves covering the stairs, but can you believe this was Middletown on October 29th?

Basically it rained at a very cold night, so it started snowing… the leaves were still intact though, so snow got heavy on them and trees started disposing (dropping) not just leaves and branches …the whole trunk came down. I aaaalmost got hit by a huge trunk right outside of PAC (to which a bystander responded, “well… if you don’t believe in God, you better believe in one now!”) Some landed on power lines, shutting down the power in 75% of Connecticut :(
It gets sunny and hot (with occasional wind and rain) in the past few weeks— I never actually look up weather forecasts before I go out, but I know how the weather is like from what drinks people mostly order at Pi Cafe when I’m working there.
On hot days, iced coffee and fruit smoothie. Windy days, chai latte and chai charger. Rainy (and we had snow too) days, hot chocolate and salty ivan. (I think the correlation between these drinks being ordered and the respective weather is strong and unlikely to have happened by chance …uh leave me alone, SPSS).
Dashing through Boston and Hartford yesterday, I felt that the windchill was almost unbearable. Time to start digging out sweaters and heavier coats. After 4 years here I decided that I am not particularly fond of cold weather (but the keyword is still thankful. Be thankful for everything.)
